I have a Petty Larceny case, what will be the consequences ?

More details to this question:
I was caught in video shoplifting $57 worth of goods and my court hearing will be on May 10. What are the punishment of this. It was my first offense. I was so stupid, it was even our pay day and have money on my pocket... I stayed awake for more than 24 hrs coz I was a night shift worker. Will this affect my US Citizenship interview for next month too? Pls help me... I'm scared! Thank you and God bless!

It probably will affect your upcoming naturalization interview because you must show you are of good morale character and theft is a crime involving moral turpitude under immigration law. You should hire an immigration lawyer to representing you in the criminal matter or have your attorney in the criminal case consult closely with an immigration lawyer to try and get the charge altered or dismissed.
