Hello, I am filling out the I-130 and I-485 form for my grandma to accquire citizenship from my mother. In section 47-50 of I-130 form it asks for passport number, travel document number, and expiration date of passport/travel document number. My grandma entered the country with 2 passports. An expired passport that had a valid B2 visa on it , and a new passport that doesnt have a visa on it. In this case, the expried passport is listed on the I-94 and I believe that one goes on the passport number, but do I list the new passport as a travel document number and use expiration date of new passport for the expiration date line?
In the instructions on form I-130, USCIS appears to want that the information of the passport or travel document used by the beneficiary at the time of entry into the US. If your grandmother used two passports at the time of entry, you should probably put down the information on the unexpired passport used at the time of entry since that was the passport upon which she was admitted. You would put the information on the line used for passport number, leave out travel document number since that would be the passport anyway, and give the expiration date of the unexpired passport.
