More details to this question:
I was born in the US and am a citizen. My parents lived here illegally for years before getting caught. My mom was allowed to stay with me because I was only 13 then, and we had no other family here, but my dad was deported. How can I help him return legally?

If he was barred from reentry for 10 years and it has been that long that he has been outside the US then you can petition for him to get an immigrant visa provided he has no other issues that would make him inadmissible to the US.

You can ask the government to waive the penalties for unlawful presence and permit your father to re-enter the U.S. after deportation. The process is long, and not free. Before starting it, ask an immigration attorney to evaluate your chances of success.

You need to speak with an Immigration attorney. It might be that your father will need a waiver.

You can make an application seeking permission for him to return to the U.S. after deportation. Once that is approved, you can sponsor him to become an Permanent Resident. These cases are very complicated and you must be sure that he is likely to qualify before making the application. As such, please schedule a consultation with an attorney and gather as much documentation as you can from his deportation so that you can review them with the attorney.
