More details to this question:
I am on L1A VISA and received my first I-94 extension with a validity date on 4/2020 but while travelling back CBP officer stamped shorter I-94 until 7/31 which seems to take preecedence over the extension as the latest I-94 is always most recent. Now since i have overstayed almost a month due to confusion around I-94 dates, I have been asked to linformally leave US before 9/12 and apply for stamping before you re-enter USA. That being said, i need an advise if i will be able to travel back to USA on my existing VISA/Approved Petition and will i get updated I-94 while my return or i will be asked questions about my 1 month overstay ? Or do i need a new VISA stamping before i am elligible to re-enter. If no one has cancelled my VISA why would i need new ? I also read blog where it explains overstaying in USA beyond I-94 Validity will result in Automatic VISA cancellation the moment i leave US ? Since there is no departure control, i need help understanding if i need a new VISA at all ?
