Asked on Oct 08th, 2012 on Immigration - Wisconsin
More details to this question:
I am currently in a relationship with a United Kingdom citizen, we are struggling to find a way, if there is one to get her into the United States on a permanent long term basis. She has been coming to the US for the last four years on a four month long work visa, but she would like to make the change more permanent.

Permanent resident status requires either a family member or employer sponsor.  If your relationship is serious enough to consider marriage, that would enable your friend to travel here on a fiance visa to marry you here and apply for adjustment of status to that of a permanent resident, or you could marry in the UK and apply for an immigrant visa through the US consulate there.
