QUESTION

Immigration

Asked on Apr 03rd, 2016 on Immigration - Massachusetts
More details to this question:
I'm a 60 years old woman whose brother is an american citizen for about 20 years. He filed a petition for me for immigration a very long time ago and I finally received a letter from the national visa center about my case that they wish to complete the immigrant visa case and schedule and interview. I'm an egyptian citizen. One of the documents needed is an affidavit of support from my brother. The problem is that there are family issues now between me and him as well as his wife and he might not agree to be my sponsor. I have sufficient financial funds outside the US and I can provide proof of this. I have no work credit in the US. However I want to find out anyway if it is possible to be my own sponsor and not ask him for anything. Please help

Your brother must complete an affidavit of support on your behalf. United States immigration law requires the petitioner of a family-based immigrant visa petition to submit an affidavit of support. There is no way around this requirement given the facts provided. You may read more at http://myattorneyusa.com/overcoming-presumption-of-public-charge.
