More details to this question:
Dear sirs, I would consult you about immigrating to the united states , I want to get married with my girlfriend who is living in the US and will get the citizenship soon ,I live in Iraq now , please let me know what is the best way I can be with her ? Shall we apply for the fiance visa after she gets her citizenship ? or can I travel to her via tourist visa then we can get married there? any other ideas please? Your quick response would be highly appreciated . Regards John
The fastest and most legal way for you to come to the US is through a fiancé visa when your girlfriend obtains her US citizenship. Your thoughts of traveling to this country through a tourist visa and then marrying her later could bring on a charge of misrepresenting your purpose of coming to the States. An individual can only use a tourist visa to come to the States where he or she has the intention to return after a temporary stay.
