More details to this question:
I applied for religious asylum during that time and I was approved. I was in United States when I applied and received my asylum status. Since then, I did not leave the country. I received my green card after a year My father had a serious surgery and his health condition is not well. My plan is to stay there total 5+5 month (10 months).Last month, I went to the embassy and applied for a new passport. I received my passport (home country) with no problems. 1) What are the risks that I may encounter in the home country (Turkey)? * Would I be arrested etc.because I applied for asylum in the USA? * Would USA share my information with the home country? * Is there any other risks because I received my green card through asylum? 2) What are the risks in returning back to USA with 5 months breaks? * Would I encounter any difficulties in entering back to the USA? * Would 10 months visit create any challenges during my citizenship process?
Hello,
You may face problems with the U.S. immigration service if you return to the country from which you are claiming religious persecution as they may think that your visit means that you will no longer face persecution. You should contact an experienced immigration attorney in your local city to see if there are other ways to support your father at this time without risk to your asylee status. Good Luck.
