QUESTION

L1A to Green Card

Asked on Aug 19th, 2015 on Immigration - New York
More details to this question:
I am on an L1A Visa and would like to apply for a Green Card. I have worked for this company for 6 years (3 overseas, 3 in USA) at levels managerial or higher. The company that I initially started with was purchased by a larger USA company after I moved to the USA. It continues to operate in multiple countries, however, the branch in my initial country has now been closed. Am I still eligible to apply for an Adjustment of Status without going through the PERM Labor Certification?

You do not need PERM for EB1C. You need I-140 approval. Whether you would qialify on these facts, depends among other things, on the review of your duties and responsibilities and the way in which the acquisition of one company by another was performed.
