QUESTION

marriage

Asked on Sep 22nd, 2016 on Immigration - Mississippi
More details to this question:
I have 2 year conditional green card. I have been married to my wife for the last 2 years. Just 3 months ago she asked for a divorce, which we filed a month later ... couple of weeks ago we started talking and yesterday she wanted to cancel the divorce. I don't know what to do, should I continue with the divorce because the elements that led to the divorce are still there, and I want our life from now on to be built on hard ground not because of immigration benefits, or stop the divorce and go through the immigration process and then work on the marriage later.

Whether you continue with the divorce or try to work things out is solely up to you. From an immigration standpoint, divorcing will not prevent you from removing the conditions on your residence. You may still remove conditions of you entered the marriage in good faith. You can read more at http://myattorneyusa.com/removal-of-conditions.
