QUESTION

My fiance visa was denied, what other supporting documents can I send?

Asked on Dec 12th, 2014 on Immigration - Texas
More details to this question:
My fiancee had her visa interview in Pakistan recently. The interview went well, but at the end my fiance was given a letter saying her visa has been denied under the provisions of the Immigration Nationality Act. On that same paper, they noted that "letter from petitioner explaining plans for marriage and why you are getting married in the US" and also "any other proof of your marital relationship." The interviewer took her passport and said after they received these documents then they will consider sending the passport with visa approval. My question is whether this is normal or something to worry about? And besides sending them the letter they requested and additional proof, if I should send anything else beyond that? Please let me know as I am extremely worried. Thank you!

Denial is different from request for additional documentation. What has happened specifically? Is she being asked for additional information or has the visa been denied?

It is normal for the consulate to ask for additional evidence of relationship, including requests for petitioner statements, if they feel there is a lack of evidence to establish the relationship. At a minimum, you must submit the statement and any other evidence that would reflect on the bona fides of the relationship, such as phone records, emails, correspondences, receipts, etc..
