More details to this question:
My son is in Austin Tx and has been dating a gal from the phillipines for about 18months. They would like to get married, but they have been getting varying information about the process, Her work visa has expired and she has a temporary guest visa thru Dec. They would like to marry before that happens and apply for a green card. Where can we get accurate information about cost of the process, when can she work here legally, she has a degree from the phillipines, it seems ashame that she couldn't work right away . Any accurate information is appreciated
If your son’s fiancé entered the country legally and your son is a US citizen, then he can petition her for a green card. That is the general rule. As exceptions do apply, your son would need to discuss his case in private with counsel. Counsel anywhere in the USA can represent him.
