QUESTION

My son needs visa renewed for Oath of Allegiance

Asked on Nov 17th, 2015 on Immigration - Florida
More details to this question:
He came before his 18 (dob 12/12/1996, he came 10/12/2014). We did all his final paperwork with him present here. Waiting for the Oath of Allegiance, he went back to his country (Argentina) to finish his last high school year. There was NOT any advise to 'do not leave the country in the meantime of the process' that's why he went back to finish school. There is NOT any Social Security for him. There is NOT any Permanent Resident Card at all. I've being checking the mail every single day. I did send the registration with the federal Selective Service when he turned 18, within 30 days of that birthday. First Oath of Allegiance notice came on AUGUST (Visa expired May), without knowing this, I asked to USCIS representative to change his schedule to October (lower time of the year for a flight price from my country, Argentina), and she said is ok. I bought a ticket for him to be here ready, and he couldn't come since VISA EXPIRED MAY 2015.

Have him go to the U.S. consulate to see about issuing him a green card. Otherwise, you will have to petition for him, which will take a longer time. I would urge you to consult with and hire an immigration lawyer to assist you with this case. Not because I think you’re not capable of handling it, you may will be, but in order for the lawyer to debrief and brief you, analyze, assess and evaluate your case in order to maximize the possibilities for a successful result.
