I am a permanent resident of the United States and have held a green card since June 14, 2022, one year after being selected in the diversity lottery (May 8, 2021) (DV1 category). I have been to the United States twice, each time for a month, then I am forced to return to my home country, Tunisia, for serious work, health, and financial reasons, for which I currently have supporting documents. I would like to apply for American citizenship. I would like to know the appropriate procedure for my case and if there is a possibility of applying for citizenship online? Please help me because I am going through difficult circumstances.
Unfortunately, you are ineligible for US citizenship due to the residence requirement in which most residents including yourself must have been a permanent resident for five years and in that five years remain physically present in the US for half the time, or 2 ½ years.
