non-immigrant status change or extend stay

me and my wife has ten year multipal visitar visa. and we have once visited usa. i was return within 9 week and my wife was return after 5 months.when we arrive in usa my wife was pregnent and due to health problem she has to do child birth at usa. so befor her i-94 expire my wife came back to india with my child's US passport. during the pregnancy the doctors inform that there is some issue in child kidney. Since my wife's i-94 expire and I was not with her she return to india without doing any further medical treatment of my child. In india we have consulting with our doctor but we are not satisfy with their response so we have decide to recheck form the hospital where she was born. Now can we do the medical treatment of my child in usa, we have also issued medialcal/health card of our child from florida health department .If yes then can we change our status or extend out visa for take care of child. And can we get any work permit to get financial support to survive
