More details to this question:
overstayed my visa 2 1/2 years. No criminal problem, working under my ITIN havent done any taxes yet, considering staying in the country if I can change status to become legal.

Hi. Your only option to fix your status is marriage to a US citizen. It will also depend on the type of visa you entered with 2.5 years ago.
