More details to this question:
I hold a duel citizenship. Born in England to American parents while my father was serving in the Air-force. I am 55 getting ready to retire and my husband and I would like to travel. To get an U.S. passport will take me a minimum of 18m to 2 years! A British passport will only take me weeks. My question is since I have lived in the U.S for over 50yr pay U.S. taxes, and vote here, is it legal for me to get and travel on a British passport?

The US allows dual citizenship, but as a US citizen, you will have to re-enter the US on a US passport.
