permanent residet and divorce

More details to this question:
Ive been married to an American since 2003 and have had my 10 year green card since 2008. My husband spent 3 years in state prison from 2006 - 2009 for agrivated assault with a weapon on 2 strangers.We are separated for 6 years now due to his violent temper and unpredictable moods. I now wish to divorce and remarry. how will this affect my status and do I have to inform immigration of divorce and re marriage?

Since you have had your green card since 2008, you do not have to inform immigration of your divorce and remarriage.
