QUESTION

Should I file for visitor's visa extension while waiting for I-130 approval?

Asked on Dec 29th, 2014 on Immigration - Texas
More details to this question:
I started my parents' green card process by filing I-130. It is still in processing. I will be filing for I-485 soon (in a week) while waiting for I-130 approval. They are currently in the US. Their approved stay here will expire in mid Feb 2015. My question is do I have to file for extension? What happens if I file for extension?

No need to file extension. Just file 485 with 130 receipt.

I always encourage people to not let their status expire and to file for an extension. Of course, if a valid 485 is pending, most would say it's no big deal.
