unable to get early social security retirement benefits

i applied for early retirement benefits. I have a certificate of citizenship showing my citizenship and a copy of my certificate of marriage but social security said they are unable to confirm proof of citizenship. I never applied for a passport since I never left the country. I applied at the end of October but i am still waiting and unable to get any information from the SS office i applied at. What are my options now?
