Asked on Jan 03rd, 2014 on Immigration - New York
More details to this question:
I am on H4 visa and studying school psychology. As a part of my course credits, each student is required to do unpaid practica/internship in a school. I was wondering by doing that, am I violating any immigration rules?

An unpaid internship would not be seen as unauthorized employment as there is no payment or other remuneration for the services performed in the school internship. You would not be violating your H-4 status by taking part in the school internship.Due to the limitations of the Lawyers.com Forums, Alan Lee, Esq.'s (the "Firm") participation in responding to questions posted herein does not constitute legal advice, nor legal representation of the person or entity posting a question.
