My wife was denied the green card ( immigrant visa), due to the fact that she illegally worked in USA on a tourist visa. Her tourist visa was revoked and was deported upon entering the airport at Miami Florida. We applied for the immigrant visa and during her Interview at the US-Embassy, she was told to apply for pardon before they issue her an immigrant visa. Thank you.
Are you a US Citizen? It appears that she was probably approved but that she has to file a waiver. In order to approve a waiver application, you have to prove that you (not she) would suffer "extreme hardship" if she was not granted a green card. You should retain an attorney to represent you in the matter.
