To whom it may concern, My name is Jamie Marc Hirst, I am writing this letter in hopes that I can appeal to the United States government to reconsider my lifetime ban after recently being deported. I was deported for a 1989 assault, and a 2007 fraud. I moved to America in 1982 with my family from England when I was 12yrs. old. All I know is America. I graduated High School and worked my whole adult life in America. I have two children aged 16 and 26, and two grandchildren ages 1 and 4. I have two sisters and my mother who all live in America. My father was killed by a drunk driver 5yrs. ago, after he had become an American citizen. I was misrepresented by my attorney who was overwhelmed and overmatched by the deportation process. Family, friends and co-workers have all wrote letters on my behalf. Everyone I love and care about is in America. I am as American as you can get without being a citizen. I have been a permanent resident since 1982. I love America and would love nothing more than to be able return someday to be with my family and friends which I miss terribly. I am currently in England where I feel like an alien. I am struggling to find places to stay and merely just survive with no family or friends. If you could could offer any help or guidance in this matter, please contact me with any information or suggestions that might be usefull. Thank you for your time and patience. Sincerely Yours, Jamie Marc Hirst
All that is left to do is challenge your conviction. That requires hiring an attorney that specializes in post-conviction relief in the jurisdiction(s) where you were convicted. If the relief ends up changing your criminal record for the better, then you can file a motion to reopen your immigration court case to see if the order of removal can be revoked (thus eliminating the lifetime bar). This process is expensive, time-consuming and fraught with uncertainty, but it is the only thing you can do at this point to challenge the life-time bar.
