What are the steps to getting my residency?

Me and my boy friend are getting married and is a u.s. resident but am from mexico. My parents brough me here when i was 8 years old and we enter with a visa. My question are what are the steps to get my residenty and how long will it take so i can get my social security so i can start college?

It is best for him to get citizenship to speed up the process. He can apply for you once you are married but the approval is much faster if he becomes a citizen.
