My fiancee is a permanent alien resident. He has been in the country for over 30 years. He has a child with me and one with his 1st wife. He is on probation for a non-drug related charge. Our home was searched and drugs were found in our room. I know the drugs were not ours because the place they were found, I had just cleaned earlier that morning. He claimed they were his so I would not get charged with anything.( I am a Pharmacy Tech) that could damage my career. Can he be deported for this? Also, his first wife was a US citizen but they wed in the traditional Cambodian style, which does not involve a marriage license. There are several hundred people who can concur this. When this wedding took place around 10 yrs ago, were the immigration marriage laws different? Does that change his citizenship status?
This is too complicated to answer without much more information. Ultimately his relief will be Cancellation of Deportation for Certain Permanent Residents but there are a number of issues to be addressed.
