QUESTION

What can I do if I missed providing information on N 400 form?

Asked on Jan 26th, 2014 on Immigration - New Jersey
More details to this question:
On the N 400 form I missed answering paragraph 7 section C . This is about the trips outside USA since becoming a permanent resident. I got the green card 8 years ago and have been living in the US for the last 7 years . Inadvertently missed mentioning the trips prior to five years. Just realized it now while reviewing the form for the interview slotted in two weeks. What can be done now?

You can do the correction and explanation during your interview. Most likely, the officer will ask you about travels abroad, so take that opportunity to explain to the officer that you inadvertently left out travels outside the 5-year period.

At the interview, normally they'll ask, and normally you can provide the information right there with no problems.

You can try sending the information to the USCIS as a supplement but it would be best to bring the information with you to the interview and to provide it to the interviewing Officer.
