what can i do to help my dad?

About 1 .5 years ago my dad got stoped by a police officer because he didn't put the turn signal. wheb he gave his name to the officer he saw he had been i jail before for crossing immigrants to the u.s. He had already been in jail for about 5 times for this. He was about 20-30 years old when that had happened. Now hes arleady 57. He got out of jail for this recent incident about 7 months ago and tried to cross back to the u.s but got caught again. Now hes in jail fpr about five more years. is there anything my family can do. i mean he wanted to cross because he has to take care for his 7 kids and my mom works all day and needs help. more than twenty years had passed since he passed people over here. he hasnt been arrested for anything else between that twenty year lapse.

If he is serving time for a criminal conviction, he would need to talk to his criminal defense attorney about getting out.  As far as immigration goes, I can't see any way he can return to the US legally.  He is subject to a lifetime bar if what you say is correct.
