QUESTION

What can we do if the visa we got expires too soon?

Asked on Dec 30th, 2013 on Immigration - Nevada
More details to this question:
My fiance and I have been in administrative processing for four months. Interview was on August 14, 2013 and he just got the visa approved on December 23, 2013. He went to pick it up on December 30, 2013 (India time) and the expiration is January 17, 2014. What should I do? We cannot plan a wedding that fast, not did we get the 6 month allocation. If we consider the admin process, then February 14 should be the length.

That is the time in which you must enter the U.S. The marriage requirement is 90 days after entry into the U.S.

Your fiance just needs to manage to come to the US before her visa expires. The Customs and Border Protection will admit her for 4 months regardless.
