You should file a petition for alien relative first. This petition could be pending between 8-12 months assuming you file it with all the supporting documents. After the case is approved by the US Immigration Service, then it moves to the National Visa Center which will gather all the documents required to process your husband's immigrant visa at the US Consulate in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico. Immigrant Visa cases are often processed at the NVC in 2-4 months, assuming the petitioner knows what he/she is doing. Family-based consular processing immigrant visa cases could be complex and long. I would advise you to seek specialized legal advice.

If you are a US citizen, you need to submit form I-130 and all the supporting documentation. If you are not sure how to proceed, you should consult with an immigration attorney.

You will need to fill-out and submit forms I-130, a G-325A for yourself, and a G-325A for your husband also. In addition, you will need to submit passport-type photos, documentation of your US citizenship, marriage certificate, any divorce decrees, and evidence that you were married in good faith. The filing fee is $420.
