More details to this question:
I want to marry my boyfriend. He has no law problems but does have a few traffic violations. He has never been in any trouble here. He works everyday very hard for his money. He has been here in America for 7 years. How do I go about helping him so we can live a clean healthy life? I finally found the love of my life not based on his color but the greatness in a person.
Your question requires an attorney consultation. It is not a simple question that can be answered on this type of forum. There are many factors that would need to be considered and evaluated. I strongly suggest that you contact an experienced immigration attorney for a face-to-face consultation and give him/her all of the facts surrounding your situation. (S)he would then be in a better position to analyze your case, advise you of your options and, if possible, make sure that the necessary paperwork and documentation is properly presented so as not to delay the process.
You guys need to see an Immigration attorney. It is usually possible to help people in your situation, but an attorney has to know may details which cannot be and should not be shared online on a public forum.
More information is needed. How did your boyfriend enter the U. S.? That said, the Government will not stop you from marrying him and you can live with him outside the U.S. If he entered without inspection, then there will be complications and he may need to consular process. If not, then he needs proof of his lawful entry. If he needs to consular process his immigrant visa, because he entered without paperwork, then that can take a while. In order to 'relatively speed up' the process, both your petition and a provisional unlawful presence waiver can be processed before he leaves the U. S. However, it is unclear whether he has other complications due to his physical presence in the U.S. More information is needed. Your husband may have challenges with the permanent bar, which can frustrate a lot of applicants who try to do the right thing, only are not aware that past complications can result in the revocation of an approved visa and waiver.
Traffic violations are not going to be an issue. How did he enter the US? Lawfully or unlawfully? If he entered unlawfully, he may not be eligible to legalize his status within the US under the current immigration laws even if he is married to you, traffic tickets or no tickets.
You will have to disclose more information about yourself and your boyfriend to get a meaningful advise. Are you a US citizen? Did your boyfriend come to the US legally? etc.
