QUESTION

What happens after you fail an interview and withdraw the application

Asked on Jan 30th, 2016 on Immigration - Connecticut
More details to this question:
I applied for an adjustment of status for my wife after we got married and failed our 1st interview due to lack of preparation and being nervous. The officer said the case looked like fraud because she didnt know things about me in the military and about our bills and I told him she didnt know those answers because i never brought it up and because the military pays me to support her and apparently that wasn't a valid excuse for her not knowing so I decided to get a divorce after failing our interview because i didn't want to keep risking my top secret clearance since i was married to an illegal alien. when i withdrew from the case the officer wrote down the reason why i was withdrawing from it was due to the fact that i didnt want to risk my job and I called USCIS a month later and my case wasnt withdrawn yet and im about to go on deployment for months and don't know if I have to do anything else. Any advice would be highly appreciated.

USCIS will issue a decision denying the immigrant visa petition because it was withdrawn. However, the fact that the petition was withdrawn does not prevent USCIS from making a fraud finding or investigating allegations of fraud.
