QUESTION

what is "extended review" fir I-90 replacement

Asked on Aug 08th, 2013 on Immigration - Arizona
More details to this question:
Filed I-90 on 12.02/12 to replace old edition I-151 with I-551. Attended bio on 12/26/13. Responded to RFE on 6/11/13 (copy of birth cert). Recd letter from USCIS 7/24/13 stating that my case was in extended review which could take an additional 6 mos. Is this normal? or a red flag for potential problems? Thank you

That usually just means they are doing a more thorough background check.  It doesn't mean there is a problem with the case.
