Hopefully, U.S. Congress will write the new immigration law that would permanently legalize DACA recipients in some manner, at least create a "line" and put them in line behind all the legal non-immigrants who are still waiting for their permanent resident status (such as H1-B workers, for example). This is my hope. The executive order that created DACA was only a temporary measure; a President of this country cannot write the law because of the concept of separation of powers. Only Congress can write the law of this land. So now it is up to Congress to do something positive for DACA. If Congress does not act, I heard that President Trump promised to "revisit this issue" - whatever that means. Right now, he put the pressure on Congress to do their job and create the law of the land for DACA recipients.
