What is the best thing to do while awaiting removal proceedings?

In stead of just waiting for decisions to made, can one request voluntary removal and not be able to come back within 2 years if they overstayed within 180 days? My husband was working without a permit, his court date is coming up so I'm tryin to figure out what would be the best thing? I will petition for him but coming up with the money is very challenging.

You should hire a lawyer that can work on your case and try to prevent the removal and most likely a ban. When you say coming up with the money is a challenge, is that for attorney fees or government fees?
