A motive of marrying an illegal alien so that they do not get deported does not insulate an intending partner from a charge of marriage fraud. The punishment for being caught could be up to five years in a federal prison and $250,000 fine for each member of the conspiracy.Due to the limitations of the Lawyers.com Forums, Alan Lee, Esq.'s (the "Firm") participation in responding to questions posted herein does not constitute legal advice, nor legal representation of the person or entity posting a question.
