QUESTION

What process do I follow now if I married NRA while she was here on a b-1 visa?

Asked on Jan 20th, 2013 on Immigration - Nevada
More details to this question:
My girlfriend and I decided to get married after dating for 19 years. She has come and on gone back and forth to the U.S. never overstaying her 90 limit for b-1/b-2 visa during the last 19 years. The marriage was not pre planned prior to her last entry. We were in Nevada and decided to get married spur of the moment. There was no intent prior to her arrival. She is currently in the U.S. and I am a U.S. citizen.

She will be fine. Just apply for the green card and make sure that she doesn't travel. The travel will complicate the case. The entire process takes 3 months from start to finish if done correctly.

Wait at least 2 months after her entry to marry unless you are already married. Then file I-130 and I-485 and related documents. Or see an attorney to help you.
