Will the Greencard for either individuals be impacted ?
Asked on Feb 20th, 2013 on Immigration - New Jersey
More details to this question:
Asking for a friend who is married and has a child born in US. Friend's husband's greencard is in final stage, near fingerprinting/stamping I think. Unfortunately the marriage is in troubled waters, and there is a divorce threat. What are the options to both individuals, especially my friend who is not in US at the moment. She is being asked to travel to US for the greencard finalities and she is not sure what is in store.
Thank you for your interesting inquiry. The issues are quite complicated and the matter depends upon the stage that the husband's case is in. We have handled many cases of this nature and work closely with the Matrimonial Counsel and the parties to explore all potential options. It would be best for your friend to contact a qualified Immigration Law Office/Firm and to be sure to explore ALL of the options available with regard to timing and possibility for completing of the process.
