QUESTION

Withdraw sponsorship

Asked on Jan 14th, 2017 on Immigration - Arizona
More details to this question:
I sponsored my friend's husband (came on fiancé visa) since I had the income requirement. They have submitted his final paperwork recently, but she found out he has cheated on her and is going to file divorce. We believe he came to the US under false pretenses. She said I can stop the process by withdrawing sponsorship so he cannot stay here. Is this possible? How? Can we do this without an attorney? Time is a factor.

Both you and your friend can stop the process by withdrawing your affidavits of support. This can only be done if the green card application is still pending. If his green card application is already approved, neither you nor your friend can withdraw the affidavit of support. You will neeed to contact USCIS to withdraw the affidavit of support.
