Are military logos/symbols license free?

More details to this question:
Interested in making my own military jewelry for retail (e.g. charms, earrings, pendants) and am curious if I need permission to use the logos/symbols of the various branches of the armed forces. Or permission for the various bases that carry their own unique logo.
