Hello, I have created special way of transferring air from 1 container to another continually with no energy and this method can continue for ever if the machine does not break down. Can I patent this method. I was told that I cannot patent a method. It has to be a physical item Is this correct ?

Methods/processes of doing something can most definitely be patented. Whether or not you particular process is patentable is another story and I suggest that you consult with a patent attorney who can advise you after studying the method.
