Can you patent a process?

More details to this question:
If I have a process, example: - User goes on website, requests form - Form mailed to user - User signs up with the code on the form - With that verification of address, user does specific tasks on the website Can that process be patented?

If the process has not been performed before and is not obvious based on other processes that have been performed before, a process can be patented. The process you described does not seem novel or non-obvious, but if it were, it could be patented. Good luck, Todd
