Do I have recourse if my idea was stolen ?

More details to this question:
I was asked to custom design a small bag several months ago.. I did and gave samples to the person. I discovered that the person had copied my little bags, including certain original details only found in my bags. He is making and selling the bags.

As a general matter, ideas are not subject to any kind of protection in the United States unless they are kept secret. If, as you say, you were asked to do this work and did so, then the person who paid for the work has the right to use what he paid for.
