I need to patent a script idea. Where can I go to do that? How much will it cost? My teacher said it would only be $20 at most.

Your teacher is wrong. You cant patent the script. You have to copyright the script. It cost about $40. Go to the US Copyright Office website and follow the directions.

You probably mean copyright registration. You can register a copyright at the U.S. Copyright Office, www.copyright.gov.
