Are breaks and or lunch breaks required by law?

Asked on Dec 28th, 2016 on Labor and Employment - Ohio
More details to this question:
I work for an ambulance service in a non emergency position. I am regularly denied any breaks and it's a godsend if I get time to eat through my shift which is never shorter than 12 hours.

Does your employer automatically deduct a lunch? I ask because many employers automatically deduct lunches from their employees' compensable time. Ohio does not have a law requiring a break or a lunch, but you must be paid for all hours worked. In addition, if you are an hourly employee, you should be paid overtime wages for hours worked over 40 in a workweek.   Ohio overtime lawyer http://mcoffmanlegal.com/ohio-overtime-attorney-flsa/
