QUESTION

Black mold and lung issues

Asked on Dec 26th, 2016 on Labor and Employment - Georgia
More details to this question:
I am a former employee with a major Credit Union. I have tried on several attempts to let them know just about everyone in our branch is sick . I have severe lung problems. While I was working there I saw a lung specially who said my lungs were in critical state . I was on several pills, inhalers and breathing machines for the last few weeks I worked there. Since I have left that business my lungs have improved greatly but I am afraid the damage is done. They still will not admit the black mold was the problem. Employees still there have sinus issues, bronchitis and astma. Is it a coincidence that since I have left I can breath again? I have filed a complaint with OSHA. They have since sent in a crew that has said the mold is "not that bad" I am proof that it's is. Do I (we) have a case ?

Have you received the OSHA Report?  Did they find black mold?  Who sent in a crew? the employer?  OSHA? whose opinion was it that the mold was "not that bad"? You may have an OSHA case; but the most OSHA can do is cite and fine them - and the fine goes to the US Treasury, not to an employee.  You may have a workers compensation case. You should contact a workers compensation attorney.  I recommend  J.
