ca non compete for consultant

More details to this question:
Ca resident consulting for Az based company. Want to quit company but client solicited me to work for them part time. Since I did not solicit them am I protected under Ca non compete laws?

Did you sign an agreement with your current company that includes a non-compete provision? If not, I don't see why you would be prohibited from working for the new company.
