Can a trucking company delay settlement and cause you to be stranded for 6 days?

I drive for a driveway company and they have next day pay 50% up front the other half when you deliver the following day.now the issue im currently having is that I took a run that took an extra day and a half to deliver that extra day was ignited due to bad road conditions extremely high winds and holiday travelers.to make a long story short truck was delivered on a Thursday because I was 20 min late on showing delivered I wasn't entitled to next day pay, even tho they knew I dodnt have any cash on hand.I was told it was sent in anyway and I should be getting a settlement on a Saturday well needless to say Saturday has came and gone, and still no settlement.and they don't ccme back to work till Tuesday so that means im stuck 2,555 miles away from home with no money.no ones answering the emergency phones intentionally! I want to file a lawsuit.
