Can an employer change the separation notice?

More details to this question:
I was terminated from my employer on September 30 and the reason on the separation notice stated Job Performance - yesterday I received another separation notice in the mail saying I resigned, it is dated October 22. Can they do that? How does that effect my unemployment?

In GA, yes, the employer may change it. Take both copies to GA DOL, and tell the truth about what happened.
