can i be fired due to my thyroid?

More details to this question:
I'm a truck driver I was hired by a local company and a week went by and I was fired . I was told it was because the doctor that did my physical said I had a thyroid problem. I am now working for another local company and have no problems with my health I've passed every physical ice had done. Its been 5 years is there a statue of limitations?

Yes, you can be fired for your thyroid because North Carolina is an employment-at-will state and you can be fired for any reason. The question is: can you sue the company for firing you because of your thyroid.  The only claim that seems possible would be disability discrimination.  If so, then the statute of limitations expired years ago.
