QUESTION

Can I be fired for picking up my own paycheck?

Asked on Jul 03rd, 2014 on Labor and Employment - North Carolina
More details to this question:
I just started to work at a hotel as a desk clerk week before last and our pay day was last Thursday, however I was the only one who did not receive their check. I was told that my check was at a location in another city nearby. I traveled to this city on Monday and picked up my check. I had a conversation with the supervisor today (July 3, 2014) who stated that if this happens again, I will be charged with fraud.

Not sure that I understand the facts here.  It seems to be a strange situation.  However, North Carolina is an employment-at-will state and you can be fired for good reason, bad reason or no reason at all.
